Adding BIOS to RetroArch On Android & iOS
If you want to add BIOS to RetroArch on Android & iOS, use the following steps:
Step 1: Download & Install RetroArch
If you have not installed the RetroArch Emulator on your mobile device yet, follow these simple steps:
- First, open the Google PlayStore or App Store.
- Now, use the search feature and search for the RetroArch.

- This will show you the multiple apps.
- Select the correct RetroArch app.
- Now, tap on the Install button just below the app name.
- This will start the installation process.
- Wait for the installation process to be completed and open the RetroArch Emulator.
- This will create the folder in your device storage.
- That’s it.
Step 2: Download PS2 BIOS File
Once you successfully installed the RetroArch Emulator, the next thing you need to do is download the BIOS files.
To do so, use the following steps:
- To download PS2 BIOS files click on the link.
- Once you click on this link, it will redirect you to the PS2 BIOS page.
- There, you will find BIOS files of multiple games.
- Each file has the region information in its description make sure to pick the one you need.
- Select the BIOS file for the game you want to play.
- Click on the Download button to download the file.
- Once the BIOS file is downloaded, locate it in the File Manager or another app that you can use to access the storage files.
- Once you find the BIOS file, tap on it and select Extract.
- Now, tap and hold the extracted BIOS file and move it to the following location:
RetroArch/system/pcsx2/bios - Once done, close the app.
Step 3: Get the PS2 Core
To use the RetroArch emulator to play the PS2 games you need to get the core files.
To download the right PS2 Core files, use the steps mentioned below:
- First, open the RetroArch Emulator.
- Navigate to Settings.
- From the settings menu, select “Load Core”.
- This will show you the list of all the installed cores.
- Because there are no core files available for PS2, you need to select “Download Core”.
- From the list of cores displayed on your screen, find the core that says “Sony – PlayStation 2 (LRPS2)”.
- Tap on it and follow the instructions to download this core.
- Once done, go back to the Load Core screen and select the core you just installed.
- This will take a few seconds to load the core.

Step 4: Add PS2 ISO Game to RetroArch
Once you have successfully loaded the PS2 core, the next thing you need to do is add the PS2 ISO Game to RetroArch.
